Who is best for Nose Reshaping Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, also known as Nose Surgery, is one of the most common of all plastic surgery procedures. The reasons may be aesthetic, for a reconstructive purpose, to correct birth defects or breathing problems. Nose Reshaping can be done on people unsatisfied with their original nose or if their nose has suffered an injury.
Many surgeons remember that the patient must have complete facial growth, around 15 for girls, and a bit later for boys. The patient must also be emotionally stable and sure about the changes. You should be physically healthy and stop smoking long time before surgery. It is important to remember that you should do it for yourself and not because of someone else or to fit an ideal image. Nose Surgery - the surgical procedure:

A Nose Surgery usually takes one hour or two; however, complicated procedures may take longer. Surgery incisions are usually hidden inside the nose. In case of an open procedure, the incision is made across the columella – strip of tissue that separates the nostrils. The most common is the closed procedure. The open procedure is used only in some situations, like in more complicated cases.
Surgery can be done by using cartilage grafted from other areas of your body. Usually, pieces of cartilage are usually taken from the septum, in the middle of the nose. A piece of cartilage from the ear and a section of rib cartilage can sometimes be used too.
In case of deviated septum, it is straightened and the projections inside the nose are reduced, in order to improve breathing.
After the nose is sculpted, nasal skin and tissue are redraped and the incisions are closed. Additional incisions may be placed in the natural creases of the nostrils to alter their size.
In case of improving an obstructed airway, it is necessary to make a specific evaluation of the nasal structure. As the procedure involves airflow and breathing, special attention is needed. When the problem is a deviated septum, the nasal structure is adjusted in a way to produce better alignment. Deviated septum is the most common breathing impairment cause. [ Top ]

Recovery from Nose Surgery:

After the surgery procedure, splints and internal tubes will be used, in order to support and protect the new structures. They should remain for about a week.
Swelling usually take a few weeks to get better, however, the results could take up to a year to completely be seen.
During the healing process, swelling may get better and get worse in the mornings. It may happen during the first year after surgery. [ Top ]

Your new Appearance after Nose Surgery:

In the days following nose surgery, when your face is bruised and swollen, it's easy to forget that you will be looking better. However, this stage will pass and day by day, your Nose will begin to look better and your confidence will improve.
Healing is a slow and gradual process. Some subtle swelling may be present for months, especially in the tip. It may take a year so the final results can be seen. [ Top ]

What else you should know about Nose Reshaping:

Just like any surgery procedure, there are some risks. It is important to ask your plastic surgeon everything you would like to know and share with him all your feelings and fears.
It is also extremely important to follow your physician’s instructions, ensuring best results. The incisions should not be subjected to excessive force, abrasion or motion during the healing process.

Nose Surgery results are usually permanent; however, cartilage may reshape and move tissue over time, changing the final results. [ Top ]
