Patient Care

Plastic Surgery requires proper preparation and exams in the preoperative phase and care in the recovery phase after the surgery.

Preparation and after-care depend greatly on what procedure you may choose, however, we’ll give you here some general guidelines and advice from renowned plastic surgeons in Brazil.

PRE-OPERATIVE CARE

POST-OPERATIVE CARE

PRE-OPERATIVE CARE

If time wasn't the most highly prized commodity in the fast moving world of today, we would no doubt be able to persuade our clients to spend more time recovering pre-operatively, from their plane journey to Brazil and their normal hectic daily schedules. [ Top ]

Acclimatization

However we do try and enforce a minimum 48 hour acclimatization period, prior to surgery, as our surgeons are of the opinion that acclimatization is essential in ensuring the best possible outcome of surgical procedures. [ Top ]

Spa Treatmants - an Option for Preparation

As a result of this clients often opt for taking their Rejuvenation Holiday prior to their surgical procedure(s) - by the end of which time they are completely acclimatised and relaxed.

During the pre-operative phase our clients are encouraged to prepare their bodies for surgery by aiding their relaxation with a variety of skin and body enhancing treatments best suited to their particular chosen procedure or procedures.

These treatments will not only help to remove the mental stresses usually associated with the pre-operative stage but will also help to promote a relaxed and healthy physical state, highly beneficial to a faster rate of post-operative recovery. [ Top ]

Exams

Before undergoing a surgery, a few exams are necessary for the doctor get familiar about the patient’s health condition. The most common exam, indispensable for any surgery procedure, is the hemogram and the coagulogram. But, depending on the plastic surgery, other exams can be required as well; like a thorax x – ray, an electrocardiogram, glucose, urea and creatine. [ Top ]

Pre-Cautions

Cigarettes and Alcohol

We would recommend you, to avoid smoking and drinking a month before surgery. Negative effects from smoking and drinking have been reported - so can smoking reduce the body circulation and thus increase the risk for necrosis, where else alcohol may reduce the effects of medication. [ Top ]

Medication

For a safer surgery, you should tell your doctor if you’re taking any medication. Usually, some medications, like heart or pressure medication don’t need to be interrupt, but drugs like stimulators, appetite moderators and antidepressants may, sometimes, interfere in the anesthesia. It’s also important to tell the anesthetist if you’re taking any of them so he can prepare the anesthesia for your case particularly.

The most appropriate is to interrupt their use from one to ten days before the surgery, depending the time using medication. [ Top ]
